What of-the-shelf acne treatment worked best for you?

I've got mild acne, not very noticable but many tiny zits ALL over my forehead, nose, and chin. And ive been seeing a lot of comercials for proactiv and clean and clear but i have a feeling its all just BS. What stuff has cleared up YOUR face?
